Careers Guidance: an area of expertise The Longhi Institute was founded in 1949 and worked for 10 years in Careers Guidance using traditional instruments (the same commonly used by schools and psychologists even today) but the results obtained proved to be far from satisfactory from the students standpoint - they were never completely satisfied. In 1960, Professor Artemio Longhi, Doctor of Psychology, decided to create his own method and began a research program to determine why the tests were failing and how to overcome their difficulties. After 10 months of hard work he found out that the traditional tests had and indeed still have three important drawbacks:
In 1962 he prepared a set of careers guidance tests conceived to correct these problems and take a step forward: the Parapsychometrical Report. With quantitative and therefore precise results the tests cover 4 fundamental areas:
At that time, the psychological profile was so important to Longhi that he decided to evaluate it as widely as possible, from more than 40 angles. A new concept recently achieved tremendous success: "Emotional Inteligence". It is nothing more than what Professor Longhi realized 40 years ago.
Innovative and constantly revised, PR won 1st. place among all methods analysed by the International Psychology and Parapsychology Congress in 1983. What 'being happy' means Freedom to express yourself and your creativity:
that's close to happiness. How close you are to it depends on your psychological
processes. If you are repressed in some areas of your personality,
you will not be able to be "yourself" because your unconscious
will be supressing those areas from your life all the time (and it will
be taking a lot of energy to do this). This means anxiety and stress

Parapsychometrical Report - Main Features Determines your best professional choice: when you have several strong professional tendencies you may be confused. PR guides you safely to the right choice. Determines your level of motivation: when psychological blocks cause a lack of motivation, people will feel no profession would fit them. They cannot choose any career at all. PR detects this problem and its causes. All you have to do is eliminate the causes with the help of a therapist, or by yourself. Reveals psychological blocks that can knock you off the right path: social inferiority, blocked identity, feelings of rejection, blocked IQ's, etc. Evaluates your intuition: your capacity to "feel" people, "predict", etc. (which characterizes genius). The result is presented in a report: all the mesured characteristics are presented with their percentage values: the main Professional Tendencies; the Talents (verbal, logical and artistic); Intuition, and 40 other areas of the personality (leadership, persistence, maturity, identity, sociability, harmony of emotions, etc.) Presents motivation vs. talents: the report presents a comparison between motivation to choose a profession and the IQ (talent) necessary to succeed in it, revealing if they are synchronized. This is an absolutely essencial feature. Points out the qualities and psychological blocks: all the high scoring characteristics are presented together to show you your potential. Pay attention to them - they are your strong points. The psychological blocks are pointed out for you to know what problems you must solve to open your road to success and self-realization. Pay attention to them - they are your inner enemies. Shows, clearly, to those already working in a profession, if they are on the right path: have they chosen the right career? Their ideal career? If not, maybe it's time to correct the path before getting too far off course. Stress and deception are usually found there. PR was created to be answered at home: without time measurement, people feel free to express what they really are. Stress and axiety disturb the answers and produce distorted results. But be careful: sincerity is the key to perfect results.
